Davidstow Airfield & Cornwall At War Museum

Davidstow Airfield & Cornwall At War Museum

This superb museum is located  within the confines of the former Coastal Command airfield at RAF Davidstow Moor. The museum houses some very interesting artifacts relating to aspects of war and the military within the Duchy of Cornwall. Be sure to look out for exhibits relating to Treligga (HMS Vulture 2) which give excellent detail of this little known site. If you visit the museum be sure to make time for a guided tour around the airfield as it is a truly atmospheric place.

The Davidstow Airfield Cornwall at War Museum has a wide remit, dedicated primarily to RAF Davidstow moor from its opening on 1st October 1942 until its closure at the end of 1945. It also covers all the other airfields along the North Comwall coast, the Royal Navy in and around the county, the Army civilian services, home front etc.

The museum covers the history of RAF Davidstow Moor 1942-1945, and also the RAF, Army and Navy in Cornwall. It has exhibits displaying the home front, the Davidstow/Falklands exercise in 1982, and has a film show running throughout the day and guided tours of the airfield by arrangement.
